Chapter 10: Chi-Square Tests
In this chapter, you'll learn about three chi-square tests:
- Goodness of fit: Are the proportions of the different outcomes in this population equal to these hypothesized proportions?
- Homogeneity of proportions: Are the proportions of the different outcomes in one population equal to those in another population?
- Independence: Are two or more outcomes associated in this population?
The procedure in each case is almost the same. The difference is in the type of question asked and the kinds of conclusions that you can draw.
